Our Dentists
Dr. Laura Bowman & Dr. Ashkan Afshinkia
In 2018, Dr. Bowman & Dr. Afshinkia transitioned from associates to owners of one of the longest standing dental practices in the Penticton community. They immediately set out to find a new home for the practice and after five long years, and many trials and tribulations, they are proud and relieved to finally be able to offer care in a space that reflects their commitment to excellence in dentistry.
They opened the doors to their new space in January of 2024. They are excited to continue to provide high quality care to their existing patients, some of which are third generation patients of the practice, as well as to new patients who are looking for a dental home in the community.
Dr. Bowman and Dr. Afshinkia both earned their dental degrees at UBC and met while playing soccer on the UBC dentistry recreational team. Upon completion of their studies they relocated to Dr. Laura’s hometown of Penticton to build their careers and enjoy the Okanagan lifestyle. They have spent the last decade building long-lasting relationships with their patients and now have 3 young children who keep them very busy when they are not at the office.
With their construction project complete and their young children starting to reach school age they hope to soon find time to rediscover the hobbies they previously enjoyed such as traveling, hiking, playing rec soccer and reading (non-dentistry related) books.
Both Dr. Bowman and Dr. Afshinkia actively pursue further education in many areas of dentistry and are both graduates from the highly esteemed Kois Centre in Seattle, WA.
